Highly Sensitive People (HSP's) //

Highly Sensitive People (HSP's) are asked to deal with an ever expanding list of challenges from our modern world.

Just ask Elaine N. Aron, author of the book “The Highly Sensitive Person: How to Thrive When the World Overwhelms You”.

Her groundbreaking work revealed that almost 20% of our population are HSP's. This can be you, your child, a friend, or a co-worker.

I borrowed this from Elaine's website, http://hsperson.com :

Is this you?

  • Are you easily overwhelmed by such things as bright lights, strong smells, coarse fabrics, or sirens nearby?

  • Do you get rattled when you have a lot to do in a short amount of time?

  • Do you make a point of avoiding violent movies and TV shows?

  • Do you need to withdraw during busy days, into bed or a darkened room or some other place where you can have privacy and relief from the situation?

  • Do you make it a high priority to arrange your life to avoid upsetting or overwhelming situations?

  • Do you notice or enjoy delicate or fine scents, tastes, sounds, or works of art?

  • Do you have a rich and complex inner life?

  • When you were a child, did your parents or teachers see you as sensitive or shy?

Deadlines, constant multimedia bombardment, EMF radiations (yes, HSP adults and children can actually feel Wi-Fi and other electromagnetic fields), all make coping in our non-HSP tolerant society a challenge.

I have many wonderful stories of HSP’s who after decades of suffering have finally found peace in our modern world.

Comments such as:

"I feel an ease in my body that I have never experienced before".

"I am able to function for a whole day at school or work".

"The daily life with my family is no longer something to dread".

... are heard in my office often.
